Featuring in the small luxury hotels of the world list La Plantacion del Sur from Vincci Selection is set in Costa Adeje, Southern Tenerife. This stunning hotel is set on a hill between El Duque Beach and La Caleta overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. With it’s colonial architecture and grand entrance hall, It was clear from our arrival we had reserved something rather unique for our five night stay. Our greeting at reception enhanced our check in process. Staff were attentive and of course the Prosecco & chocolate covered nuts were a welcome treat.!
With 99 rooms, 21 junior suites and 2 Royal Suites we requested to view our room before deciding. The very helpful concierge made it possible to view 2 other rooms. We finally decided to upgrade to the Junior Suite which had a larger balcony with 2 full size loungers and patio furniture overlooking the pool area for a small extra charge. The extremely large canopy bed with a pillow menu and typical colonial decor offered a very relaxed and luxurious feel. With robes and slippers and nespresso coffee machine it was difficult to leave the room! The large bathroom came with double sinks, bath and a hydromassage shower with luxury products from Loewe.
Other facilities at the hotel include The Nammu Spa with its beautiful Hermes products and 3 theme circuits . It offered all ranges of body and facial treatments and is situated beside the fitness room and hair salon. It is important to point out that if you are not having a treatment in the spa some of the areas cannot be accessed . On site there is also a Business Centre, Games room, and a small Boutique. A mini club with activities programme is available also. The pool area is beautiful with a number of Balinese beds and 3 swimming pools including a children’s pool. Pool towels in abundance and no rush for sunbeds. There is also pool bar service.
We chose to stay on a b/b basis. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide range of choices and served till 11am. Pancakes and omelette of your choice can be ordered while you wait. There is an outdoor seating area with a sun shade for those that prefer to have their breakfast Al fresco. The staff at breakfast were extremely friendly and went above and beyond and we found the same at Jaima Lunch Bar at the pool area. There was a really lovely atmosphere in general and one of sheer relaxation and it was very easy to de stress quite quickly. If you want a short break and to return from your trip feeling relaxed and rejuvenated I would personally recommend staying here.
*The Hotel also offers over 40 private villas located just beyond the pool area. The rooms are similar to the main hotel with the added extra of a small garden with a private outdoor jacuzzi.
